Ferrari P3/4 chassis 0846

The story of the Ferrari P3 P4 chassis 0846

1966

Ferrari build 3 P3 for the 1966 season : two berlinettas (Coupe) chassis 0844 and 0848 and one spyder chassis 0846
This spyder raced four times that year :

12 hours of Sebring  #27  DNF
                                 Targa Florio #230 DNF
Nurburgring #2 DNS (spare car - practice only)
24 hours of Le Mans #27  DNF

1967

For 1967 Ferrari developed its new P4. Chassis 0846 served as the prototype. It received the new engine and new suspensions but kept its P3 chassis. It was renamed P3 P4 or P3/4. Three P4 were built for the new season as berlinettas - chassis 0856 0858 and 0860 (they were modified as spyder for the Brands Hatch race). The two P3 from 1966 ( 0844 and 0848) and two chassis (0850 and 0854) built in 1966 but never completed were built for customers and were named 412P.
It was a better year for 0846. It started with a win at the Daytona 24. It raced also four time in1967:

24 hours of Daytona #23 winner
Preliminary test in April - 4 hours of Le Mans #22 winner
                                 Targa Florio #224  DNF
24 hours of Le Mans  DNF accident

1968

According to Ferrari 0846 has been scrapped but most of its usable parts - included the engine - were used to build David Piper own P4 with the OK from Ferrari. It received the chassis number 0900.
It was thought that the chassis has been used as a base for the Pininfarina P5 project but there is evidence of the contrary.

Delahaye 135 S Chassis 47194

The story of the Delahaye 135 S  chassis 47194

This chassis 47194 was built in 1936 initially with a factory body. Its first owner Mr Jeannin raced it in 1936 and 1937. In 1938 it was sold to Mr Mazaud who raced it in 1938 and 1939. The car had an accident near the end of the '38 season and was rebuilt with a modernized body work specific to this car and was raced in 1939 in this configuration. After the German invasion of France in 1940 it was  unfortunatly requisitioned by the Wermacht, repainted in German grey and used as a courrier car for a while. It has never been seen again.
